Round: Onsite · Type: Multiple Types · Difficulty: 6/10 · Duration: 360 min · Interviewer: Neutral
Topics: Machine Learning, Algorithms, Matrix Operations, Behavioral Questions, System Design
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Interview date: 2025-02-15
I recently passed the MLE2 interview at Intuit. My current role focuses on GenAI fine-tuning and evaluation, with limited deployment work, mainly focusing on algorithms. Intuit's MLE role mainly involves model deployment, not model training or algorithm modules. The Risk and Fraud group primarily uses traditional machine learning.
The first round was a phone screen with deep dive into my resume and one very simple coding question (details forgotten).
The onsite interview lasted a full day, from 9 AM to 3 PM.
For the first 90 minutes, I had to write a craft demo implementing matrix transpose and multiplication for four matrix sizes: small, medium, large, and huge. The speed was compared to a NumPy baseline.
Next was a one-hour panel interview. The first 15 minutes were for a PPT presentation about myself, followed by 45 minutes discussing the craft demo.
The afternoon consisted of technical interviews and resume deep dives with the panel interviewers.
I was also asked about LeetCode 139.
