Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Interview date: 2025-02-15
This was my onsite interview experience at Intuit.
Phone Screen: I was asked a LeetCode problem.
Craft Demo: This round consisted of a 75-minute coding session where I had to modify an existing API within a provided repo. The questions were not difficult, but I needed to be familiar with converting between JSON and data models in my chosen language. I was allowed to use Google, but unfamiliarity could cost time. I also had to write tests.
Technical Interview: In this round, I had to write another API based on the previous round. The output needed to be sorted based on a specific field. Following this, I was asked a series of miscellaneous questions, including some DevOps questions.
AI Assessment: I was asked about my experience developing AI or LLM applications, my experiences using LLMs in my work or personal life, and my insights on generative AI. I was also asked what an agent is.
Technical Manager: This round consisted of standard behavioral questions and project introductions.
I felt that the interviewers themselves were unsure of what to ask due to a new general hire process followed by team matching. During the craft round, one person insisted there was an issue with my code, even though the API returned normal output. This affected my mindset. During the technical round, another interviewer seemed arrogant. I passed the interviews but was down-leveled from Senior SDE to SDE2, likely due to the feedback from one interviewer. The recruiter was also unresponsive, taking two follow-up emails to receive a result.
