Meta not hiring outside Bay Area

I recently completed a phone screening interview with Meta and successfully advanced to the next stage. The next steps involved connecting with another recruiter to schedule a virtual onsite interview. However, I learned that Meta's hiring is currently limited to the Bay Area. Consequently, my interview process has been paused until new roles open in my region. I am uncertain if this hiring limitation applies only to the specific level or function I applied for.

I am sharing this information to help other candidates who may not have received similar updates from their recruiters. My recruiter was very helpful and proactive in keeping me informed of the situation, rather than leaving me without an update.
