Meta E4 Full Loop Onsite - Reject
Coding 1:
Can Place Flowers - relatively easy, but it took some time to recall the solution.
Variation of Shortest Distance from All Buildings - I knew the approach, but the interviewer wasn't convinced of my solution's correctness. I struggled to explain it effectively, and the interviewer required a thorough explanation before allowing me to code. This round did not go well, and I believed my chances of receiving an offer were minimal.
Behavioral:
Standard behavioral questions were asked.
Coding 2:
Variation of a backtracking problem - The interviewer was unconvinced by my solution. After researching it, I confirmed my solution was correct. However, given my performance in the first round, this round's outcome didn't significantly impact my overall assessment.
Kth largest element - I presented solutions using sorting, a heap without popping, a heap with popping, and mentioned quickselect. The interviewer seemed satisfied with the heap and quickselect solutions.
Product Design:
Design Messenger - The interviewer was very pleased with my solution.
Overall:
Although I haven't received official notification, I anticipate a rejection. My performance in the coding rounds suggests that not solving both coding problems optimally significantly impacts the outcome.
