Meta Data Engineer Onsite Interview

I recently completed an onsite interview for a Data Engineer position in Product Analytics at Meta. The process consisted of four rounds.

Round 1 focused on ownership and involved behavioral questions assessing past experiences. For example, I was asked to describe a time I faced conflict and made a data-driven decision.

Rounds 2, 3, and 4 were technical rounds. These included:

1. Product Sense: Defining success metrics for a hypothetical project (similar to those at Lyft, Twitter, or a video platform).
2. Data Modeling: Designing a dimensional/fact data model.
3. SQL: Medium difficulty SQL queries based on a consistent theme.
4. Python: Easy to medium difficulty Python coding problem involving streaming data and core data structures.

The interview process concluded with a rejection. Feedback indicated that the bar for the ownership interview was not met.
