I was recently interviewed by Microsoft. It was a drive which means all the interviews would be on the same day If you clear the coding test sent a week earlier. If you clear the first 2 rounds of the day then you will be moving to third and then the forth round. PS : I couldn't clear the process as always I failed miserably but like always I must say it was a great experience
There was a test in which there were 2 problems asked you need to write the logic for it and submit the test you will hear back from the recruiter if you cleared it or not.
1st Round : The interviewer asked me to introduce myself then gave me a problem to solve . He wanted to know the minimum time to burn the whole matrix if it can, provided it has empty blocks, active fire cracker and burst fire cracker. It is similar to as of Spoiled Oranges problem on
2nd Round : The second round was abour system design interviewer started with introduction and then asked me to design a book store search which will have search by name, author and genre. It should be capable of handling 1million requests
3rd Round : The third round was about Low Level Design interviewer started with introduction and then asked me about my experience, few basic questions about experience then he asked me to design a system for task execution. A system which will execute tasks, we don't have to send back response or anything it's just that we have to execute every task.
4th Round: The forth round was the worst amongst all, the interviewer started with my introduction then asked me a lot of questions around my experience including Flutter. Then he gave me very basic problem to swap 2 numbers then he asked me to write a program to solve snake and ladder. When asked about input he asked me to consider any input of my choice. I was baffled I started with a one dimentional array because I wanted to make it simpler and like jump game then I switched to 2d array. I wasted a lot of time to realise that it was again a design plus solving problem. Where I had to design a game with all the pojos and everything plus the logic to find a number of dice rolls to end the game. Obviously I couldn't solve it in time even after giving multiple chances and time. I was rejected in the end.
This was the day Microsoft announced the Lay offs, I did not hear back from the recruiter when contacted she mentioned that I was rejected didnt share any feedback.
