Current Position: SDE1 at a mid-range product-based company

This is my second interview with Microsoft. Previously, I completed one interview round for a different role; the recruiter provided positive feedback, but the position was put on hold.

This time, a different recruiter contacted me for a hiring drive. All interview rounds were conducted on the same day, with 15-minute breaks in between.

Round 1:

1. Discussion on REST APIs.
2. Discussion on the architecture of a previous project and the design of a feature I worked on.
3. Troubleshooting scenario: Identifying the root cause and resolution steps for a non-functional page. This section lasted 20-30 minutes, with in-depth questioning on each answer.
4. Questions on API Gateway and Rate Limiting.
5. Implementing logging for debugging purposes.

Round 2: High-Level Design (HLD): Design a service to verify if a given URL is malicious. This service would be used whenever a user accesses a URL in their browser to take appropriate action.

This was one of the best interview rounds I've experienced. I learned that my HLD skills are strong.

Round 3:

1. Low-Level Design of a Key-Value Store.
2. Follow-up questions on the Key-Value Store design.
3. Questions on Disk Memory vs. In-Memory storage.
4. More questions on REST APIs.

Verdict: I did not receive a response from the recruiter. However, all rounds went well, and the interviewers seemed pleased with my answers. I did not follow up with the recruiter because I accepted an offer from another company.
