After applying to Microsoft via referral, I was contacted by a recruiter via email. I then completed Codility tests for a specific team's hiring drive. The interview process consisted of four rounds: three technical interviews and one with the hiring manager.
I interacted with two HR representatives throughout the process: one scheduled interviews via calls, and the other was my primary point of contact through email.
The initial rounds included a DSA interview and a System Design interview on the first day, followed by another System Design interview the next day. There was a delay of a few days before the final round with the hiring manager. The hiring manager round was average, as the interviewer seemed preoccupied.
Following the final interview, there was a period of several weeks without updates. Despite contacting the recruiter who scheduled my interviews, they were unable to provide information and suggested contacting my primary point of contact. However, my emails to this recruiter went unanswered, and I did not have their phone number.
Recently, I received an email requesting detailed information and documents regarding compensation and location preferences, without feedback on my interview performance or selection status. I provided the requested information. I have not yet received a verbal or written offer from Microsoft.
Does this email indicate that I have been selected and a background check is underway? Or is there still a possibility of rejection?
