Nvidia NetQ | Backend Software Engineer | IC2 | | May'22 [Position freezed]

I interviewed for a Backend Software Engineer position at Nvidia for their NetQ product. The role involved working on a datacenter network monitoring tool, similar to VMware vRLI, which Nvidia acquired a few years ago. The tech stack included Cassandra, Akka, Kafka, and Spark.

The interview process consisted of four rounds. The first two rounds focused on algorithms and data structures. The questions included:

• Implementing a function to generate a random string with specific criteria.
• Sorting an array and finding the count of contiguous people.
• Finding the minimum number of boats required to carry all people given their weights.
• Finding the time taken to wet an entire binary tree, with modifications to consider edge weights.

The third round was a hiring manager round, which also included algorithmic questions. The questions included:

• A modified version of the Leetcode Word Search problem.
• Salary expectations.

The final round was with a director and focused on behavioral questions. The questions included:

• Why Nvidia?
• Why leaving VMware?
• Salary expectations.
• Describing my professional journey, including challenges faced.

After the final round, I contacted HR after 10 days. Unfortunately, the position was pulled back, and they said they would let me know if it opened again.
