The following interview is an On-campus selection that happened in my college.
Status: Fresher (Graduating in ) Experience: NA Date: Aug Location:
Hiring process:
It was my first Interview so I was very nervous in the beginning.
Round 1 : Online Assessment (90 minutes) This round had one coding problem, one SQL problem, one API implementation problem and 6 MCQ's. The coding problem was a Leetcode medium, the SQL one was easy, and the API implementation was fairly basic. The MCQ's were very easy. I completed this round in 1 hour.
After the aptitude, the selected candidates were invited to interview rounds. All the three rounds of interview happened on the same day
Round 2: Project + DSA Interview 1 (30-40 minutes)
The round started with a basic introduction. The interviewer straight up started asking about my project. We discussed authentication, NodeJS, REST, PassportJS, SQL vs NoSQL and lots of other things. He asked me to write code for connecting mongoDB. I replied I always copy it from documentation, can I do that here too? He laughed and skipped the question. Then I got a problem on a variation of string matching, I told him about KMP and Rabin Karp, He said to write brute force only. This round went pretty good for me.
Round 3: DSA Round 2 (30-40 minutes)
This round started with some introduction. The interviewer straight up opened Hackerrank with a problem based on priority queue. I told him brute force within 1 minute and optimized in another minute, in the next minute I coded and ran it. He asked me if I had any questions for him. I asked whether this is the end of this round and he replied positively. This round ended within 5 minutes. (LOL)
Round 4: HR Round (40-50 minutes)
This round was the highlight of my day as the interviewer was super friendly and was always interactive when I gave some answer or tried answering. This round didn't involve much of CS Fundamentals or DSA, rather it involved scenario-based questioning where the interviewer expected me to think and answer thereby he could understand my thinking abilities.
He asked lots of situation-based questions, and I told him lots of stories which I made at that very moment. He was so happy with all my responses and we laughed together like we are friends since forever. I never imagined an interview could be so easy.
Result: I was selected for a full-time role as MTS in server technology.
