I interviewed for an SDE-2 position at Oracle OCI in August . I had previously interviewed with Oracle in March , but was put on hold due to the pandemic. I was referred by a former colleague and was contacted by HR for an initial phone screen.
The technical phone interview was 45 minutes long and focused on basic data structures and algorithms. It was straightforward and I felt confident in my performance. I received a call from the team manager after the interview to discuss the role and the team.
The virtual onsite interview consisted of six rounds, each lasting one hour. There was one system design round, four coding rounds, and one bar raiser round.
The system design round involved designing a system based on given requirements. I was asked to clarify the requirements and ask questions to ensure I understood the problem.
The coding rounds began with behavioral questions followed by 45 minutes of coding. I had prepared by solving medium-level questions tagged under Oracle from the past year. The questions asked were similar to or variations of those I had practiced.
The bar raiser round involved two interviewers from different teams. The purpose of this round was to assess my knowledge and intellect. I was asked questions about my previous work experience and public cloud services.
I want to emphasize the importance of sharing interview experiences. By providing insights into the interview process and preparation, we can help reduce stress and anxiety for job seekers. Thank you!
