I interviewed for the SMTS position at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in Austin, TX on September 1. The interview process took over two months to complete and consisted of eight rounds: one technical recruiter round, one hiring manager round, one phone screen, and a virtual onsite with two technical rounds, one system design round, one bartender round, and one final hiring manager round. I received an offer the next day after the onsite.
The hiring manager round focused on behavioral questions. The technical phone screen was one hour long and included behavioral questions and a medium-difficulty graph algorithm question. The two technical onsite rounds were each one hour long and included behavioral questions, data structure questions, time complexity questions, and algorithm questions. The algorithm questions included a medium BFS question and a hard backtracking question. The system design round was one hour long and focused on system design requirements gathering and designing a real-time social networking application feature. The bartender and final hiring manager rounds were each one hour long and focused on behavioral questions.
Overall, I had a positive interview experience. All interviewers were respectful and helpful when I was stuck. The only negative aspect of the process was that the technical recruiter contact changed multiple times.
