Interviewing for an IC1 position at Oracle in Redwood City, CA, I applied to the 2 year rotational program for new grads. The process moved quickly after a recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn.
The HR phone screen was a casual discussion about my background, classes taken, and reasons for choosing Oracle. This was followed by a phone interview that lasted an hour. The interview began with a brief introduction and then focused on a coding question: Merge Intervals from LeetCode. The interview concluded with a short Q&A session.
The virtual onsite consisted of three 1-hour rounds. The first round involved a behavioral/resume review followed by a coding question: LRU Cache from LeetCode. The second and third rounds focused on resume-based questions and Oracle's company values.
I was surprised by the focus on behavioral and company values, as I expected more technical rounds. I prepared extensively for Oracle-tagged questions on LeetCode and found that a strong understanding of OCI values and behavioral questions is crucial.
I received the offer a few hours after the onsite interview.
