I interviewed at Palantir for a Product Engineer position. The interview process was virtual due to COVID-19. It consisted of three rounds: coding, system design, and another coding round. The first coding round involved a string manipulation problem, which I struggled with and did not complete. The system design round was about designing an application that allows users to find new outfits using clothes they already have in their closet. I felt this round went better than the first, but I lack experience with Big Data or scaling, which may have been evident. The final coding round was a LeetCode Medium level question about flattening a list of users and groups into a list of users. I solved this problem and discussed my solution with the interviewer. Despite the success of the final round, the first two rounds were enough to result in a rejection. I was not surprised by this outcome.
