The interview process for the Battery Cell Engineering Internship at Tesla consisted of two 30-minute technical/general Zoom calls. Each interview included a mix of personal behavioral and general interview questions, along with science and engineering technical questions. The personal questions were typical interview questions such as 'Tell me about yourself,' 'Why do you want to work at Tesla?' and 'Describe your past work experience.' The technical questions covered a wide range of topics, including thermodynamics, heat transfer, static mechanics, Newtonian physics, electrical components, and timed circuits. The rapid pace of the interviews, switching between personal and technical questions, tested the applicant's ability to adapt quickly. While stressful, the interviews were a fun challenge and a unique experience compared to other interviews I've had.
