I interviewed for a New Grad Software Engineer position at TikTok in December . I had previously completed a HackerRank online assessment with four questions, solving two fully and two partially. My onsite interview experience was unfortunately negative. The interviewer had difficulty explaining the question clearly and kept reframing it. I tried to ask clarifying questions, but the interviewer seemed to ignore me. I struggled to understand what the interviewer wanted, but eventually figured it out and executed the code. The interview was supposed to be in English, but it felt like the interviewer didn't care about the language. I was disappointed with the interview experience, especially considering TikTok's size and reputation. Overall, I found the interview process to be challenging and frustrating.
