Status: Grad Current Company : Job Ad tech company (SDE-2) Location: Banglore, India Date: July Applied Through : Got referral from an Engineering Director for Bengaluru Location

Within 2 days got interview scheduled.

Round 1(60 minutes) (Coding (Software Engineering) : Depth in specialization/chosen technology (Distributed Systems, Mobile, ML, Data, etc.)): DSA/PS question: Word Search (Medium as per Leetcode tag) Did it and left with 40 minutes Machine Coding for Parking Lot: Started design while explaining. But couldn't finish it within time. Interviewer asked to stop.

Round 2(60 minutes) (Coding (Software Engineering) : Algorithms & Data structures): One hard question: Bus Routes Kept on discussing different approach and finally agreed on one and then coded. Passed it in the first run.

Verdict: Rejected Strong No for round 1. So not going forward and and exiting the loop. Try after 6 months with preparation.

My Thoughts: If you judge someone to run a complete code on machine along with proper design within 40 minutes, then it will certainly not give good output in terms of getting talents. Also some interviewers with merely 2-3 years of experience think themselves of expert in design and show oversmartness. Also many contacts of mine did not get machine coding round for the same level at the same company. They got only PS/DS questions. Anyway, put more efforts on learning design.
