I interviewed for a Staff Software Engineer position at Visa in . The interview process was slow, taking place over a few months. There was no online assessment test. I had four rounds of interviews, all virtual onsite interviews. The first two rounds were focused on system design and data structures. The interviewer asked me to design a system monitor application and to redesign a monolithic project into a microservice architecture. The third round was more confusing, as the interviewer asked me to design a class and write code for a patient appointment system. The goal was to prioritize patients based on age and ensure they could be easily removed from the sequence. The final round was a fitment round with a manager, where we discussed my experience and expectations. I received an offer and am currently negotiating compensation.
