I interviewed with Visa for the role of Senior Software Engineer in October. The role was based out of and the entire interview process took 1 month. My current work experience is 3 years.
Round 1: Coding Round - 45 min Code Signal Platform was used and there were 2 interviewers (mid-level)
Didn't expect to clear the round but fortunately got through!
Round 2: Technical/System Design - 45 min Aced this round! Questions were on current project - deep dive on system, design, various scenarios of concurrency, multithreading and consistency in a distributed system Various Spring Boot questions on filters, REST API versioning, annotations like transactional etc SQL database related concepts like - views, queries, triggers Java concepts - synchronised, hashmaps, concurrent hashmaps, database connection pool etc System Design and Design Patterns
Round 3: Hiring Manager Round General discussion about myself, day to day work, projects, way of working. The HM shared information about the work at Visa, team, tech stack etc. He was very friendly and welcoming. Overall, a very positive round.
Reason for rejecting the offer: The final feedback took a long time (almost 2.5 weeks) to be shared with me. The offer process was very slow and I had an offer in hand which they considered and provided me a slightly improved compensation. Would've definitely joined Visa but I didn't want to join this particular team as it was more on the infrastructure side and an internal team.
