I applied online for a Senior Software Engineer position at Walmart and received a call from a recruiter within a week. The entire process was quick compared to other companies, with three stages instead of the typical two. The first stage was a technical screen focusing on Java-related questions similar to the "LFU Cache" and "LRU Cache" problems on LeetCode. I answered all the questions successfully, which led me to the second stage. The onsite interview consisted of three rounds: one behavioral, one system design, and one coding round. The coding question was similar to the "Degree of an Array" problem on LeetCode. In the third stage, the recruiter informed me that I needed to complete another coding round for them to determine the level. The question on the Codility platform was similar to the "Reformat Date" problem on LeetCode. There were follow-up questions on how to make the solution generic and improve code quality. After all the rounds, the recruiter contacted me within two days to inform me that I would receive an offer for the Senior Software Engineer position. I found the Walmart interview experience to be better than many other tech companies, where I often didn't receive any response regarding my resume. Walmart was also flexible enough to offer either a New Jersey or California location. Overall, I was very satisfied with the interview experience. I felt happy that my LeetCode practice paid off.
